The ability to offer multiple options to a client allows providers to ensure they are able to offer both inexpensive services, but easily provided the higher end revenue generators as well. Disaster recover is often seen as attracting the premium type customers.
As email flows through the system, it is not normally stored unless it is quarantined. This means that, should a user suffer email server failure many hours after their last server backup, we do not keep a copy of emails we have already delivered. However, with the Disaster Recovery module, the system can be set to keep a copy of all email flowing both inbound and outbound through the system. The provider is able to set the retention period per customer, meaning that the cost base of the storage can be set in line with the revenue generated.
As the system uses a granular permission structure, the Administrator can allow a user to query their own email storage and recover their own lost or damaged emails.
Where an entire email system has failed, the Administrator is able to search by time and date, and select all of the mail for the organisation and recover the entire period to the last backup.
