Business Edition

The business edition of Jupiter offers all of the features of the Personal addition, plus a number of additional collaboration tools.

Users can have their own personal home drive, which synchronizes with the corporate account, as well as accessing shared company resources. The company administrator(s) will have a portal to control shares company resources, and they can decide which permissions users within the company have to which resources. Permissions can be based on local users within Jupiter, or be assigned to Active Directory users and groups.

Users can subscribe to the shared company resources that are relevant to them, and decide if they want to fully download, or partially download the shared resource. The partial download method is a system that allows users to download header information about the files to their desktop. They will be able to view files in Windows Explorer, as if the file was local. When the user tries to open the file, the remaining file will download. This feature will allow users seamless access to terabytes of data, without actually having to download all the data that is not being used.

Another key feature to the business version is the file lock feature. This will allow administrators to ensure that only one person can work on a file at a time. The file is still downloaded onto user's computers, only the file is opened, it is reported as locked to the central database. The file will remain locked, until the user finishing working on the file.  While the file is locked, other users will not be able to modify the file. When the user closes the file, the file is unlocked. If a user wishes to tack a file offline to work on it, they also have the option to check the file out.

Version control allows businesses to roll back to any previous version of a file, as well as seeing a full audit of all changes that have been made to that file, and the user that made those changes.
